RACE FANS, RACE FANS, RACE FANS!
Troop 70 will be tent camping at Killens Pond State Park the
weekend of September 24-26. On Saturday Scouts will travel over to
Dover International Speedway for the Dover 200 at the Monster Mile.
Here's the trick...in order to get their free ticket to the Dover 200, each
Scout must "sell" a ticket. Information needed to "sell" will be e-
mailed as soon as possible. Postcards with online ordering info will
be given to all Scouts at our first troop meeting on September 9. The
postcard also promotes $5 off the cost of an adult ticket. Scouts
need to get a parent (or another trusted adult) to purchase a ticket
using their "code". That first sale will be accompanied by the Scout's
free ticket. Parents who buy tickets may either camp with us or meet
us for the day on Saturday. Scouts need not wait for the postcards to
"sell" tickets. Scouts should "sell" as many tickets as possible using
their code, as the more they sell the more prices and incentives
they'll be eligible for (preferred seating, meet/greet with Jeff Gordon,
etc.). Scouts' sales will be counted towards incentives through 9/17.

Patrols will be responsible for Saturday breakfast and dinner and
Sunday breakfast. Scouts will receive a free hot dog and beverage
for being in uniform at the race, but should also bring spending $ for
additional snacks.

ANNUAL HEALTH & MEDICAL RECORD
Anyone who did not attend summer camp, including adults, must
turn in a current
Annual Health & Medical Record. This form is the
only form to be accepted. It is unacceptable to use a high adventure
base medical form or sports physical form as a substitution. Since
you did not attend summer camp only Parts A & C must be
completed. Be sure to include a front/back copy of your insurance
card.

A YEAR OF CELEBRATION
Scouts and leaders, don't forget to keep working toward earning
your A Year of Celebration patch and ribbons. Tracking booklets
were given out awhile back, but you may print off new ones
here. As
you get requirements signed off by a leader, be sure to show your
booklet to Adrienne Roberto.

YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING
The BSA requires that all registered leaders complete online youth
protection training, but Troop 70 is asking that all adults, regardless
of registration status, complete the training as well. Create an
account at www.MyScouting.org to complete the training. When
completed please send a screen print of your certificate to me and
Tomi Morris.

ADULT DATA
Parents and leaders, please complete the attached form and return
at the first troop meeting in September. We're most interested in the
vehicle and insurance info. Also keep in mind that any adult who
participates with the troop, not just registered leaders, must also
turn in Parts A & C of the Annual Health & Medical Record.

ADVANCEMENT
Scouts have nearly two months left of summer. This is great time to
work on requirements toward their next rank, to finish outstanding
requirements for partial merit badges,  to start a merit badge on
their own, or to begin planning an Eagle project. If you need to locate
a counselor for a badge, let me know. If you have questions about
Eagle projects then check out the Trail to Eagle page of the Troop 70
website.
