Annual Planning Conference
September 1, 2011 @ 6:00 PM Silverside Church
Troop leadership will set goals and lay out plans for the new Scouting year and have the PLC for September.

Volunteer Service Fair
Saturday, September 10 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Blue Ball Barn, Alapocas Run State Park. The Governor's Commission on
Community and Volunteer Service, AmeriCorps Programs, statewide emergency services and disaster preparedness agencies will
sponsor the fair. Troop 70 Peacemakers will attend in uniform and learn about service opportunities and give time to a project.
Refreshments and free commemorative T-shirts will be provided. The barn is at 1914 West Park Drive, Wilmington.

10th Anniversary Interfaith 9/11 Memorial Service
Sunday, September 11 @ 2:00 PM. Troop 70 Peacemakers will attend the 10th Anniversary Interfaith 9/11 Memorial Service at Holy
Rosary. Participants will include state and national politicians, members of the armed services, north Delaware veterans groups, state and
county police, firefighters and EMT’s, and representatives from the Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, Jewish, and Muslim clergy. Please join
us in this solemn day of prayer that Holy Rosary has sponsored for all of northern Delaware for the past ten years! Let all of us join as
Americans of Faith to honor the victims of 9/11 and all those who have given their lives in the war on terrorism.

"New York Says Thank You" The Movie
Sunday, September 11 @ 4:00 PM. As part of Scout Surge 9/11, Troop 70 Peacemakers will host a screening of the limited-release film
“New York Says Thank You” in Silverside Church’s Cline Hall. “New York Says Thank You” is an epic story of healing and patriotic heroism
that charts the journey of four New Yorkers whose lives were touched by September 11 —as they travel the country to help communities
rebuild after their own disasters. Along the way, these individuals grow, face their emotions, and ultimately triumph over tragedy through
an amazing community effort that evolved from a five-year-old New York City boy’s idea to help others. This feature-length documentary
film casts a hopeful light in the shadow of the tragic day as, every September; New Yorkers are joined by an ever-growing group of
disaster survivors and volunteers from around the country to pay forward the support they once received. For more information on the

Camping: Dorney Park
September 16-18, 2011
Troop 70 will be tent camping at Blue Rocks Family Campground and spend Saturday enjoying the amusements at the theme park. $5.00
to cover 2 breakfasts is due on October 8. $30.00 to cover park admission is due on October 15. Scouts must bring their own spending
money for lunch and dinner on Saturday at the park. Scouts must wear troop activity uniforms on Saturday.

Service Project
September 24, 2011
Our service project at the the Food Bank of DE (Newark) is Saturday September 24 from 9:00 AM to Noon.  For more information and to
register prior to our volumteer date go to http://fbd.volunteerhub.com and scroll down to Boy Scout Troop 70 (Bill B.).  Plan to meet at
Silverside Church by 8 so we can car-pool to their facility near Newark.

Trail to Eagle Training
September 25, 2011 @ 7:00 PM at Silverside Church. Targeted at Star and Life rank Scouts, their parents, Scoutmasters, and troop
committee chairs.

Sunday Breakfast Mission
Saturday, October 8 @ 9:00. Scouts will help sort donations or make up baskets for this charity. Family and friends are welcome to help
out. Scouts should wear complete uniforms. Please sign-up at Thursday's troop meeting. Sunday Breakfast Mission is located at 110 N.
Poplar Street in Wilmington. This is a great opportunity for those to complete service hours, especially those of you who still need to do
hours at the Mission for Citizenship in the Community from when we were working on it over a year ago.

Disabilities Awareness Merit BAdge
Monday, October 10 @ 6:30 PM. In honor of Disabilities Awareness Month Troop 503 is sponsoring a "spotlight" on Disabilities
Awareness Merit Badge. Troop 503 is a small group of scouts located at Mary Campbell Center. Following the troop meeting,
refreshments will be served. Please sign-up at Thursday's troop meeting.

this voucher is presented at time of order, between 4 and 9PM, an amount equal to 20% of your total bill will be donated to Boy

Holiday Scout March
Saturday, November 26 @ 2:30 PM. Troop 70 will be joining other Scouts from Del-Mar-Va Council in marching in this year's Wilmington
Jaycees Christmas Parade. Unless a Scout is travelling out-of-state with family they are expected to participate. We're expected to meet
on Market Street in full uniform at 2:30 PM. Wear long-johns or under-armor under your uniform as we will not be able to wear jackets
over our uniforms. A gathering may follow. More details to come.

Camping: Pouch Scout Camp (New York City)

Scouts will sleep in lean-to shelters and spend Saturday afternoon touring New York City. We will also hold the annual Greedy Gift
Exchange. $10.00 due December 1. All campers should also bring a $10 wrapped gift for the Greedy Gift Exchange.

Powder Mill Chapter Fellowship Weekend
January 6-8 @ Rodney Scout Reservation. Open to all Powder Mill OA members. Cost is $25.00 and includes all meals, lodging, and a
special participant flap. This event is limited to 22 participants so sign-up early! Preference will be given to the chapter's youth members.

January 20-22, 2011. Cold-weather camping. $15.00 due at January 5 troop meeting.

Scouting for Food
February 4, 2012 @ Super G
Scouts will collect boxes full of canned and other non-perishable goods in front of Super G on Concord PIke. Scouts will work in pairs for
two hour shifts from 8:45 AM until 4:45 PM. Collected goods will be given to Jewish Family Services. Scouts are asked to bring at 1-3 small
and sturdy boxes, such as a copy paper box with a lid. Sign-up for shifts on February 2.

6th Annual Winter Bowling Night
Saturday, February 11, 2012
Powder Mill Chapter is holding it's annual bowling night at Pleasant Hill Lanes in Newport, from 9:00 PM - Midnight. $15.00 covers three
hours of bowling, shoe rental and snacks. RSVP with OA Troop Representative, Brock Trexler.

Scout Sunday
Sunday, February 5, 2012 @ Silverside Church
Troop members and their families will participate in Silverside Church's morning service at 10AM. Scouts will serve as readers, ushers and
greeters. Sign-up on February 2.
