Camping: Cape Henlopen State Park
September 19-21, 2008
Scouts camp in tents in the primitive youth group area and enjoyed the sun and surf while conducting a safe swim activity on Saturday.
We also completed a service project in the park, hiked, and plalyed disc golf. Those in attendance were: Matt Andreas, Steven Andreas,

Nentego Lodge 20 Fall Inductions Weekend

Ordeal candidates completed their inductions; Brotherhood candidates complete their conversion. All enjoyed fellowship and performed

Environmental Science MB
November 15 @ Academy of Natural Sciences
Under the direction of the Academy's merit badge counselors, Scouts will be guided through a series of experiments and hands-on
activities. This intensive workshop will provide Scouts with the majority of the requirements for completion of this Eagle-required badge.
The field study (Requirement 4) must be done on your own prior to the event (use this worksheet). Cost is $16.50 per Scout. Please sign

Camping: Ockanickon Scout Reservation (COPE / Hiking)

Younger Scouts spent the weekend camping and day hiking and working on advancement. Experienced Scouts participated in COPE.

Wednesday, December 3 @ Grotto Pizza in Fairfax Shopping Center.
The troop earned 20% of all dine-in and take-out orders between 4PM-9PM when a voucher was presented. Thanks to all troop members
who distributed the flier to family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc.

Scouts collected 35 box fulls of canned and other non-perishable goods in front of Super G on Concord PIke. Scouts worked in pairs for
two hour shifts from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Collected goods were given to Jewish Family Services. Those in attendance were: Matt

Merit Badge College 2009
January 10 & February 28, 2009 @ George Reed Middle School
A great opportunity to complete merit badges that you don’t get to do at summer camp or during the troop year. Eagle-required badges
are open to Scouts who will be 14-years or older. Please refer to the attachments, including the badges offered and the registration form.
Turn in registration by November 20 with your check payable to BSA Troop #70 in the amount of $10.00. Check-in is between 8:00 - 8:40
AM. Participants should be there in full uniform and checked in prior to the Opening Ceremony, which begins at 8:45 AM. Also, if there’s a
parent who’s willing to coordinate this it would be extremely helpful.
